BIOGRAPHY
Amando Moreno enters his first season with El Paso Locomotive FC. Moreno – nicknamed Sayajin in reference to his love for the popular Japanese anime series, Dragon Ball – signed for El Paso in the 2024 offseason after four season with archrival New Mexico United.
He arrived in El Paso fresh off the best season in his professional career as New Mexico’s top scorer (10) and joint-top assist leader (five) in 2023, a remarkable feat after he missed a majority of the 2022 rehabbing an ACL injury he picked up in 2021.
Moreno is a league veteran with 115 total USL Championship matches, having spent time with New York Red Bulls II and New York Red Bulls Reserves. His resume also includes first division experience with New York Red Bulls (MLS), Chicago Fire (MLS) and Club Tijuana (Liga MX). He played for Dorados de Sinaloa in the Mexican second division on loan in 2017.
Internationally, Moreno has recorded 13 appearances with the El Salvador Men’s National Team, playing alongside Locomotive teammates Eric Calvillo, Jeremy Garay and Joaquin Rivas. He represented at the U.S. at the U-18 and U-20 levels.
