EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced today that it has agreed to a contract extension with midfielder Arun Basuljevic through the 2024 USL Championship season, pending league and federation approval.
Basuljevic was brought in by Head Coach and Technical Director Brian Clarhaut midway through the 2023 season. The two had worked together previously at Nyköpings BIS in Sweden’s third division and Clarhaut knew that the 27-year-old would bring midfield versatility, stamina and a top-tier work rate.
The Bronx, New York native would make his Locomotive debut against his former side, Monterey Bay FC, as a late substitute in early September but unfortunately missed the rest of the season due to a training injury. Now fit and ready to bounce back, Basuljevic is ready to prove himself to Locomotive fans in 2024.
“I’m back to 100% and I’m extremely ready to get back on the pitch and compete,” Basuljevic said. “We have big goals for next season and I’m looking forward to being part of what I think will be a very talented roster. I can’t wait to make an impact and help the club build on the success of last year.”
Future roster transactions will be announced as Locomotive prepares for its sixth season in the USL Championship.
