EL PASO, Texas – El Paso Locomotive FC announced today that forward Petur Knudsen has joined the club for the remainder of the 2023 season, pending league and federation approval.
“We look forward to welcoming Petur here and know that he will have a good impact on our team,” Head Coach and Technical Director Brian Clarhaut said. “He will give us an offensive spark that is needed now. He is coming from the top league in Denmark and is a full international for his country, so we are pleased we could get a player with this background. He is a quick, smart forward who can play behind the backline and is comfortable being withdrawn, so he is very adaptable.”
A native of the Faroe Islands, the 25-year-old last played for Danish Superliga side Lyngby Boldklub, scoring 10 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions. The forward also came on 137 times for Faroese side NSÍ Runavík, where he made his professional debut at 16 and recorded 58 goals and 35 assists.
Knudsen has 10 caps with the Faroe Islands at the international level, having recently competed in UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying earlier this summer.
