El Paso Locomotive FC (Argentina) secured a Division B second-place finish in Week 4 of the USL eCup: FIFA Edition following a 2-1 loss to New England Revolution II (Russia) on Friday. Locomotive FC eSports Manager Edwin Moreno led the charge scoring a lone goal through Sergio Aguero in the 90th minute.
Locomotive FC and Revolution II got off to a tight start, trading possession on either end of the pitch. Neither side found a strong opportunity towards goal, however, it would be New England to put away the first of the match in the 34th minute. Shortly before the end of the first 45 minutes, Revolution II nearly found a second however the Locomotive Argentina defense stepped in to snuff out the attack to
Moreno led the attack out of the break as Lionel Messi made strong pushes towards goal, fighting off a defender to get in close range, but a heavy touch gave the Russian keeper a chance to grab the ball. The Revolution side picked up the attack again, finding a quick through-ball on the counter taking a quick on goal to double its lead in the 72nd minute. While Locomotive FC picked up the pace with shots that rebounded off the post or sailed wide, the home side would not be able to find a goal until the 90th minute with a laced shot from Aguero to close out the match on a 2-1 loss.
